Flash Local is a hyperlocal deals app connecting you with nearby businesses posting real-time deals and inventory. We only collect what we need to make the app work.
Location Data
We use your device location to show nearby deals. Your coordinates are sent to our servers — linked only to an anonymous device ID, never your name or email — to surface nearby deals and a live count of people browsing near you, and to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to look up your city name. Location is optional: deny it and the app falls back to a default area.
Anonymous Fingerprint
We generate an anonymous ID (stored on your device) that ties together your favorites, the deals you view, location pings, and your push token. This ID is never linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
Favorites
When you favorite a vendor, we save it on your device and also send it to our servers — linked only to your anonymous device ID — so we can notify you when that vendor posts a new deal. Favorites are never linked to your name or email.
Activity
To show vendors how their deals perform and to improve the app, we record which deals are viewed on our servers, linked only to your anonymous device ID — never to your name or email.
Vendor Accounts
If you sign up as a vendor, we collect your business name, email, address, and any content you post. This is stored in our database and displayed publicly in the app.
Push Notifications
If you opt in, we store a device token to deliver notifications when vendors you've favorited post. This is optional and can be disabled at any time.
We use collected information to show relevant nearby deals, remember your preferences, allow vendors to manage listings, and send notifications when vendors you've favorited post. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.
Flash Local uses Supabase to store vendor accounts and deals, plus a small amount of buyer activity — favorites, anonymous location pings, and (if enabled) a push token — each linked only to an anonymous device ID, never to your name or email. Your saved preferences and that anonymous ID are also kept on your device.
You can clear all local app data using Reset Everything in Settings. Vendor accounts can be deleted by contacting us. Location permissions can be revoked in your device settings at any time.

Flash Local connects local businesses (Vendors) with nearby customers (Users) through real-time deal and inventory listings. We are a discovery platform only — we do not sell goods, fulfill orders, or guarantee the availability of any posted deal.
As a user you agree to use the app lawfully, not attempt to scrape or reverse engineer the platform, not submit false or harmful content, and understand that deals are posted by independent vendors and Flash Local does not verify their accuracy.
As a vendor you agree to post only accurate information about your business and deals, honor posted prices to the best of your ability, not post illegal or misleading content, and ensure you have rights to any content you upload. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Flash Local is a listing platform only. Any transaction between a user and vendor is solely between those parties. Flash Local accepts no liability for deals that are unavailable, inaccurate, or not honored by a vendor.
The Flash Local name, logo, and app design are owned by Flash Local. Vendors retain ownership of their posted content and grant Flash Local a non-exclusive license to display it within the app.
Flash Local is provided as-is without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or accuracy of vendor listings.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flash Local shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States.
